Sasha Sammbi - Founder & Head Coach

Sasha Sammbi is one of the few Coaches in India with a LEVEL 2 Certificate in Professional Snooker Coaching from the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA). He is a State Ranked Billiards Player and is also a former Karnataka State Cricketer.

Syed Zia has also received a LEVEL 2 Certificate in Snooker Coaching from the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA). He hails from Nagpur but is currently based in Bangalore.

Uday Kumar - Senior Coach

Uday Kumar is one of the most experienced Coaches in Bangalore. He has been a marker at ECA club for over 3 decades. He is among the top ranked markers in the Karnataka State Rankings. He is currently the Senior Coach at DPS East, Bengaluru.

Received comprehensive child protection and safeguarding training within NSPCC guidelines and achieve the UK Coaching Level 1 Certificate in Safeguarding.
Completed a DBS Check, in order to work with children on a regular basis
Learnt how to set up and deliver Professional Snooker Coaching with confidence and develop junior snooker clubs in my area.
Learnt how to coach the basics of the game using the WPBSA’s blueprint written by the game’s leading coach, former world champion Terry Griffiths.
Learnt how to improve the performance of my pupils using the WPBSA’s White to Black coaching programme.
Learnt the ‘PLAN-DO-REVIEW’ process of delivering a professional snooker lesson.

mental health awareness

We know how vital it is, both now and going forward, that we all look after ourselves. We also know that great coaching is about being able to support the people we coach who are experiencing mental health problems. We are equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence to better understand and support people living with mental health problems in the field of sport.

COACHING TECHNIQUE

WHITE TO BLACK CURRICULUM

At ISBA we follow the White to Black curriculum that was developed as part of the WPBSA World Snooker Coaching programme.

It aims to provide a structured and systematic Professional Snooker coaching programme to help players of various levels of competence in line with their ability. It will be delivered by qualified coaches of World Professional Billiards & Snooker Association (WPBSA) within the English Partnership for Snooker and Billiards (EPSB).

It is recommended that players begin at the introductory white level and progress to the black level where possible. The curriculum covers all the key areas of coaching and will cater to students of all age categories & abilities. Progress will depend upon a combination of our progressive learning techniques and the skill and ability of the Student.

COACHING LESSON REVIEW

The Coaching Lesson Review allows us to asses the progressive growth of each student by gathering the following information at the beginning and end of each session:

Review targets agreed at the last lesson
Plan the learning objectives for each lesson
What was covered during each lesson?
Target agreed for the next lesson
How did the lesson go?
